Explore Tadoba Safari Experience by Gypsy

Tadoba–Andhari Tiger Reserve is one of Maharashtra’s leading wildlife destinations and is especially known for its tiger habitat, diverse wildlife, dense bamboo forests, and scenic forest landscapes. A gypsy safari is one of the best ways to explore the reserve and experience its natural surroundings closely.

During a Tadoba safari, visitors travel through designated forest routes in an open gypsy accompanied by an authorised driver and guide. Depending on natural wildlife movement, you may get an opportunity to see Bengal tigers, leopards, sloth bears, wild dogs, sambar deer, spotted deer, gaur, and a wide variety of birds.

Visitors can choose from different safari gates, zones, and morning or evening safari slots based on permit availability. Since the number of safari vehicles allowed inside the reserve is limited, booking in advance is recommended, especially during weekends, holidays, and the peak wildlife season. All safari bookings are subject to permit availability and applicable Forest Department guidelines. Wildlife sightings are completely natural and cannot be guaranteed on any safari.

You would be able to travel around the forest in an open gypsy, spot animals walking around, hear birds singing, and breathe the pure air of the forest. The whole experience is at the same time peaceful and thrilling. On this page, you will find all the information regarding Tadoba Safari Booking, safari areas, timings, rules, and the complete procedure to get a Tadoba Safari online.

Tadoba Safari Zones & Entry Gates

Tadoba National Park is divided into four main zones: Moharli, Kolara, Navegaon, and Pangadi & Zari. Each zone has both core gates and buffer gates.

Core Zone

The core zones are the central forest sections of the park. These areas are located deep inside the jungle & are considered the main wildlife region. Visitors can see water lakes, bamboo trees, open forest roads, & different wild animals in these zones. The natural environment here is less disturbed & well-protected. Core zones are very high in demand among people because spotting animals here is easier. Due to this popularity, safari bookings for these areas usually become full very quickly.

Buffer Zone

Buffer zones are outer forest areas. These are green, quiet, and less crowded. You can enjoy birds, deer, sloth bears, wild dogs, and sometimes even tigers. Some buffer gates also allow activities like nature walks and cycling, if the forest department permits. Every gate feels different. Some gates have more water bodies, some have bamboo trees, and some have open grassland. Tiger sighting is possible in all zones, but it always depends on luck, season, and animal movement.

If your main wish is to see a tiger or big animals, a core safari is a good option. These zones have higher animal movement. They are more crowded and get booked fast.
If you enjoy calm places, green views, birds, and forest sounds, a buffer safari is a nice choice. These zones are peaceful and beautiful. Tiger sighting is possible, but not guaranteed.
