Tadoba-Andhari Tiger Reserve covers about 1,727 sq. km, including a core area of about 625.4 sq. km and a buffer area of about 1,101.77 sq. km. It has a lot of area to explore and there are multiple core and buffer safari gates across different tourism zones. Every gate provides access to a different area and offers a unique safari experience here.

For a regular gypsy safari, core and buffer gate permits can be booked online, subject to availability and TATR rules. The park is split into 4 main zones - Moharli Zone, Kolara Zone, Navegaon Zone, and Pangdi & Zari Zone. Each zone has different Tadoba safari gates, some take tourists to the core area, and others provide access to the buffer tourism zones. Let’s know about each gate of this park:

Core Zone Gates

If you’re thinking about making a Tadoba Safari Booking for the core gates, then let us tell you that the core gates remain closed on every Tuesday. The current official safari schedule lists core gate safaris from 1 October to 30 June, subject to Forest Department notifications and management conditions.

Gate-wise safari quotas may change according to Forest Department and TATR management requirements.

  • Moharli Gate:

    Moharli Gate

    Moharli is one of the main core safari gates in the Moharli Zone and is around 160 km from Nagpur. Wildlife sightings depend on natural animal movement and are not guaranteed.

  • Kolara Gate:

    Kolara Gate

    Kolara is the core safari gate for the Kolara Zone and is around 104 km from Nagpur. Wildlife sightings vary with natural animal movement.

  • Khutwanda Gate:

    Khutwanda Gate

    This is another core safari gate in the Moharli Zone and is around 138 km from Nagpur. Visitors can choose this gate for a safari experience in the core area, subject to permit availability and Forest Department rules.

  • Navegaon Gate:

    Navegaon Gate

    This is a core safari gate for the Navegaon Zone and is around 106 km from Nagpur. Safari access is subject to permit availability and applicable TATR rules.

  • Zari Gate:

    Zari Gate

    This core gate provides access to the Pangdi & Zari Zone and is around 190 km from Nagpur. Visitors may encounter tigers, sloth bears and other wildlife, depending on natural animal movement.

  • Pangdi Gate:

    Pangdi Gate

    This gate provides access to the Pangdi & Zari core zone for safari. It is around 145 km from Nagpur, while wildlife sightings depend on natural animal movement and are not guaranteed.

Buffer Zone Gates

The gates of buffer zones remain closed every Wednesday in Tadoba National Park. Some buffer safari gates may also operate during the monsoon period. If you’re visiting between 1 July and 30 September, it is a good idea to check the latest official gate status during the monsoon, as routes or gates may close depending on weather and management conditions.

Moharli Zone Buffer Gates:

  • Agarzari Gate:

    This buffer gate is around 20 km from Chandrapur and is well connected to different areas of the park. Visitors may encounter wildlife such as sloth bears and peafowl, depending on natural animal movement.

  • Dewada Gate:

    Dewada is a buffer safari gate in the Moharli Zone and can be explored by visitors interested in nature and birdlife.

  • Junona Gate:

  • Adegaon Gate:

Navegaon Zone Buffer Gates
