Travel Options to Reach Tadoba National Park

Tadoba National Park is a wild spot, which is also known as the Tadoba-Andhari Tiger Reserve. This park is one of the most famous wildlife destinations in India. Reach Tadoba by Air 

The easiest way to reach Tadoba is by air. The nearest major airport is Nagpur Airport, which is well-connected to big cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Pune, Kolkata, and Ahmedabad. Every day, many flights land here from different parts of the country. After coming to Nagpur airport, you can take a cab or taxi and ask your driver to drop you at a hotel or resort. You can also take a direct cab to Tadoba National Park if you wanna reach the park gates. The wild Tadoba National Park is around 2 to 3 hours away from the airport. If you don’t wanna hire a cab yourself or are not sure about it, then you can ask your resort to arrange a pickup. This option is the best for people who want a comfortable journey or who have less time. 

If you’re coming to the Tadoba National Park by air, then it is always a good idea to tell your resort about it in advance. If the resort has information about your reaching time, then they can offer pickup service from Nagpur Airport. This makes your journey even easier because you don’t have to search for a taxi or worry about directions. Some travellers also choose to rent a self-drive car from Nagpur and drive to Tadoba. Reach Tadoba by Railway 

Another popular way to reach the wild and famous Tadoba National Park is by train. This park is located very close to Chandrapur railway station. This station is around 35 - 45 km away from most of the gates of Tadoba National Park.  Many long-distance and express trains stop at Chandrapur railway station, and it is a convenient option for tourists. If you like train journeys, then you will surely like coming here by train. 

If you are coming from Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, or southern states, you will find many trains to Chandrapur. Make your bookings in advance, so that you don’t have to worry about getting seats. After reaching the station, you can get down and take a taxi or auto to your resort or directly to your Tadoba safari gate. Many tourists tell their resort to arrange a pick-up in advance because the train can get late, and then it can become difficult to find a vehicle. So, if you’re going to Tadoba by train, then we suggest you arrange a pick-up from the railway station in advance. 

If you’re coming to Tadoba from a different location than the one mentioned and are unable to get a suitable train to Chandrapur, then you can take a train to Nagpur instead. This is a major railway station near the park, and it is well-connected to major cities. Here, trains come from almost every corner of India. From Nagpur station, the distance to Tadoba is around 140 - 150 km. It takes around 3 hours to cover this distance by car. From the station outside, you can hire a taxi or ask your resort to send a pickup vehicle. Train travel is good for those people who like to travel without compromising on comfort and have time to cover long distances. Reach Tadoba by Road 

Road travel is also a great way to reach Tadoba. Many travellers from nearby cities like Nagpur, Chandrapur, Wardha, Amravati, and even from Hyderabad or Pune prefer road trips. If you enjoy long drives, then you should choose this option. The road network of Tadoba is good, and it is in good condition.  A road trip allows you to plan the travel time as per your liking. You can start the trip at your own time, stop anywhere for snacks, and enjoy the village scenery along the way.  Road travel by bus is chosen by most people who come in a big group, because hiring one big vehicle becomes cost-effective.

If you’re coming in your own car or bike, then it is better to use Google Maps. Through it, you can reach the resort or the Tadoba gate that you have chosen while making the Tadoba safari booking. Simply add the location of your resort or Tadoba safari gate, and easily come to the park without worrying about the route. This park has multiple gates, such as Moharli, Kolara, Khutwanda, Pangdi, Zari, Adegaon, and others. So, put your location with proper attention. Each gate has its own distance and travel time. For example, Moharli Gate is closer to Chandrapur, while Kolara Gate is closer to the Nagpur side. So before you start, confirm your resort location and safari gate to avoid extra travel time.

If you don’t have your own vehicle, but wanna come to Tadoba by road, then you can take public transport. You can take a bus to Chandrapur or Chimur from Nagpur or nearby cities. After reaching there, you can find many shared autos and local taxis that will drop you at the park gates. This is not the most comfortable option, but it works for backpackers, solo travellers, or students. The only thing to remember is that public buses may not run at all times, so planning is important.
