Collaboration for Conservation
The Tadoba-Andhari Tiger Reserve Conservation Foundation (hereinafter referred to as the Foundation) was registered under the Mumbai Public Trust Act, 1950 as a public trust bearing registration no. E-287 (C) dated 25-11-2008 (Appendix I). section 38X of the Wild Life (Protection Act, 1972 requires establishment of tiger conservation foundations to facilitate and support the management for conservation of tigers, biodiversity and rich natural heritage, and to take up eco-development initiatives for the development of natural resources and local communities with people’s involvement (Appendix II).
The Foundation channelizes and focuses concerted efforts of the stakeholders on key aspects of tiger conservation including promotion and sustainable support to wildlife research, eco-development, the sustainable livelihood of local communities residing in or adjoining tiger habitats, nature education and ecotourism over usual governmental assistance.
